Privacy Policy
1. Information We Collect
We collect the following types of information:
- Account information: Email address, display name, and authentication data when you create an account
- Images: Photos you upload for editing, processed by our AI services
- Usage data: App interactions, feature usage, and crash reports to improve the service
- Device information: Device type, operating system, and app version
- Subscription data: Purchase history managed through Apple App Store or Google Play Store
2. How We Use Your Information
- Provide and improve the App's editing and AI services
- Process your images through our AI pipeline
- Manage your account and subscription
- Send important service notifications
- Analyze usage patterns to improve the App
- Detect and prevent fraud or abuse
3. AI Image Processing — What We Send, and Where
When you tap an editing tool, the following data is sent to third-party AI services on your behalf so the requested edit can be performed:
Data sent:
- The image(s) you uploaded for that edit
- Any optional text instructions you entered
- Internal job metadata (edit type, parameters)
No account identifiers, contact information, location, device identifiers, or payment information is sent to these AI providers.
Who receives the data, and what they do with it:
- OpenAI (api.openai.com) — runs the image-analysis and image-generation models that produce your edited result. OpenAI does not use API inputs to train their models per their published API data policy. Privacy policy
- Black Forest Labs (BFL) (api.bfl.ai) — runs the FLUX models for some editing flows. BFL does not retain or train on API inputs per their commercial terms. Privacy policy
- Replicate (api.replicate.com) — runs the utility models (background removal, upscaling, face restoration). Inputs are retained briefly to deliver the output and then deleted. Privacy policy
- FAL (fal.ai) — runs the same model family as a fallback when OpenAI is unavailable. Same no-training policy. Privacy policy
We have verified that each provider above contractually protects your data at least to the same standard described in this policy. By tapping an editing tool, you grant us permission to transmit your image and prompt to whichever of the above services we route the job to. You can withdraw consent at any time by signing out or deleting your account.
4. Other Third-Party Services
We use the following third-party services to run the App. These do NOT receive the contents of your edited images:
- Supabase: account, authentication, and our own database (your email, display name, edit history, subscription tier). Privacy
- Google Cloud Storage: temporary storage of your input and output images so the AI services can fetch them via signed URLs. Files are retained 30 days then auto-deleted. Privacy
- RevenueCat: subscription state. Receives only your user ID and purchase events; never your photos or prompts. Privacy
- Apple App Store / Google Play: payment processing. We never see your card details.
- Sentry: anonymous crash reports. Includes a stack trace, app version, OS version, and your Supabase user ID. Never includes your photos or prompts. Privacy
- Firebase Cloud Messaging: push notifications when an edit completes. Receives a device token; never your photos.
5. Data Security
- Encrypted data transmission (TLS/HTTPS)
- Secure authentication with JWT tokens
- Row-level security on database records
- Time-limited signed URLs for image access
- Regular security reviews
6. Your Rights
You have the right to access, correct, delete, or export your data, and to withdraw consent. Contact optify@getsnippet.co to exercise these rights.
7. Children's Privacy
Optify is not intended for children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
8. Data Retention
Account data is retained while your account is active. Images are retained temporarily (up to 30 days) then deleted. Account deletion removes all data within 30 days.
9. Changes to This Policy
We may update this policy and will notify you of significant changes via the App or email.
